Welcome, Reception Family to the 2021-2022 School Year!

Welcome!

We would love to welcome this year’s Reception family warmly! As part of Reception’s Social Emotional Learning, students took a school photo while wearing their new Global Jaya uniforms. Reception students showed enthusiasm, smiles, and readiness for this new academic year!

Semangat Merdeka!

Global Jaya School held a Virtual Indonesian Independence day ceremony on Wednesday, August 18th, 2021. Reception students proudly joined the virtual Indonesian Independence Day celebrations by saluting during the flag-raising ceremony. They showed enthusiasm by singing the “Hari Merdeka” song during the morning synchronous class.

To celebrate the 76th Indonesian Independence Day, both Reception classes joined to partake in the following festive activities: Indonesian Restaurant and the “Face the Cookie” game. Students enjoyed these activities and were eager to share what Indonesian foods they had for lunch.

Students tried their best to follow the instructions from the teacher, but the tricky cookie fell on their faces! Some Reception friends used a strategy to help the cookie from falling off their face; they used their hands! It was a funny, memorable moment. We had a lot of fun!

Indonesian Independence Day Celebration Games for Children

For Social Studies, the students learned more about Indonesian Independence Day celebrations through traditional games. They practiced their communication skills when interviewing their family members about this event. They also practiced their research skills when they tried to find some information about this on YouTube and the internet.

Red & White 2D Shape Detectives

The children were knowledgeable when completing a 2D Shape hunt activity that required them to recognize the shapes in red and white colors. They also practiced their counting skills when they had to inquire about the numbers of certain shapes.
