This is a semester-long advanced course where students will become familiar with the knowledge, skills, and career opportunities in the welding trade. Emphasis is placed on shop safety, technical applications of arc welding, wire feed, and oxy-acetylene. In addition, students will learn how to use the torch and CNC plasma cutter. Students will also learn how to correctly create a blueprint. The first portion of the semester is spent learning these skills in the classroom and in the shop, with the second portion of the semester spent planning and creating a project of choice. This class is sure to students with lifelong valuable skills.
