This is a semester-long introductory course that will be split into two parts. The first part will be spent learning about small engines in the classroom. Weekly labs in the shop will help reinforce concepts. About after the midpoint students will then be in the shop and begin working on the shop engines. After a student has completed the necessary work for the shop engine they can bring in their own engine to work on. EVERY STUDENT is expected to bring in something to work on. It could be a snowblower, four wheeler, weedwhacker but nothing above the size of a snowmobile/four wheeler. The final will be before we go into the shop, you are expected to score a 70% to be allowed in the shop. Students who do not receive a 70% will continue studying until they get that score, or will be dropped from the class. This class is sure to students with lifelong valuable skills.
