Navigating the Virtual Conference: Your Complete Guide
Make sure that you have registered for the conference! Click here if you have not registered yet!
We will host a single live Zoom stream on each day of the conference. The keynote, special events, and all live panel sessions will happen in this stream. Please check the schedule for the times of specific events and panel sessions.
To avoid Zoom-bombing and similar security issues, we will only be allowing registered conference attendees into the live streams. If you would like to invite family or guests to watch your live sessions, they will need to register for the conference (registration is free). Please make sure that they use the name that they register under when they connect to the stream through Zoom.

Conference participants have pre-recorded the presentations of their scholarship. Their videos can be accessed from the Presentations page, or through the navigation menu at the top of every page. Be sure to watch the videos for a panel prior to attending its live panel session on the Zoom stream.
Panel sessions will run for 30 minutes followed by a 15-minute break between panels. During each session, the chair of the panel will introduce the presenters, give comments on the presentations, and then open the floor for questions from the audience. You are welcome to stay logged in and simply turn off your video and microphone during the breaks.
Presenters are expected to attend their own panel session and other panel sessions throughout the weekend in support of their peers.
The success of our conference depends on your active participation. In addition to your own panel session, we strongly encourage you to attend the keynote presentation and other students' sessions throughout the weekend. Plan your conference activities in advance by checking out the complete conference schedule. Be sure to watch the pre-recorded presentations ahead of time and come to the discussion sessions with comments and questions. We encourage students to attend the conference with their zoom cameras ON to create a sense of community. Students are expected to engage with other attendees in a respectful manner. Mute yourself when you are not speaking and raise your hand when you want to speak.
The conference also features a number of exciting events throughout the weekend. Be sure to check the schedule and join us for the conference welcome, keynote lecture, film screening, and panel discussions on applying to grad school and the state of the historical profession. All of these events can be accessed through the daily zoom link (see above).
Are you considering applying for Grad school? Do you know what you need to prepare to do so? Dr. de Chantal will describe the process and the different parts of an application for a MA and PhD in History.
History majors can pursue a variety of careers after graduation. This panel will address commonly asked questions about how to use the skills you learned while getting your degree. Participants include museum director Anna McIntyre, educator Lilith Logan, Senior Product Owner for the Swiss Tech Startup Dom Bray, and Senior Policy Advisor - Counter Human Trafficking Policy Roxane Milot.
In order to watch the movie on Saturday night, you will need an Amazon Prime account and Chrome or Firefox. We will post the link to the party 30 minutes before the film begins. Click here to join the party!
