Abstract: The story of Princess Olga of Kiev's revenge against her husband's killers closely resembles the exploits of women in Viking lore and their sagas, but is there more than just a passing connection? This study analyzes Olga's story to explore her role as Princess Regnant of Kievan Rus’ in order to demonstrate that her remarkable life points to a Scandinavian background.
