The McKinley 4th Grade examined earth's natural structure/resources and their depletion. They used a variety of source materials to inspire original theatrical work, make connections, and present their stories to the audience. Each class relied heavily on their source material and referred back to the text often, all while weaving music into their storytelling. Two ensembles performed retellings of The Lorax and The Hoodoos, but with a few twists based on background knowledge of deforestation and land overuse. The third ensemble wrote letters from the point of view of the characters presented in their documentary source material.
