Leadership 10-12 will develop students’ ability to think creatively and work effectively with others. Students will work on collaboration, communication and leadership skills while planning, coordinating and executing special events designed to build school spirit. Leadership styles, principles of efficient collaboration, decision-making matrices and conflict resolution strategies will be explored through practical, real-world activities and projects. Many of the projects and assignments will be able to be used as artifacts to support student demonstration of the core competencies. Field trips into the community to explore event planning and careers in leadership will augment class learning of leadership principles. This course is for students who wish to make a difference in their school and community while developing strong leadership skills that can be applied to any community, workplace and/or post-secondary education endeavour.Â
