Text: Flowers, Paul, et al., Openstax Chemistry Textbook
Chemistry is a course for those students requiring more of the aspects of a classical lab science as foundation for their future studies. This course will focus on the underlying principles of chemistry and the reactivity of chemicals and compounds. Experimentation, observations, and data collection will help to develop insights into the chemical problem solving skills with a level of difficulty commensurate with a college-preparatory science class. Topics taught will be nuclear chemistry, nomenclature and formula writing, writing and balancing, mole concept and stoichiometry, kinetic theory of matter, and chemical bonding and molecular shapes.
Prerequisite: Completion of Algebra 1B
Grades 10-12 Level CP1 Semester 1 Credit
Unit 6: Stoichiometry
Unit 7: Gasses
