Assignment Guidelines
For all assignments (unless otherwise specified) you should use the following guidelines:
- Use a concept map or outline to plan your report/project (Inspiration, Publisher, etc.)
- Use a font that is 11 or 12 point
- Use either Verdana, Georgia or Trebuchet
- Spacing should be 1.5 spaces or double spaced
- Margin should be 1 inch on all sides
- A footer should be inserted on each page with student name, project title, page x of y (see example on the bottom of this page) Font must be one of the above listed fonts and should be 9 or 10 point
- All sources will be cited using MLA style with a Works Cited page at the end of your report (www.ncwiseowl.org – high school zone – citation maker)
- Use correct spelling and grammar.
- All sentences should contain one coherent thought
- Avoid the use of “slang” language
- Handwritten assignments should be LEGIBLE and double spaced in black pen or in pencil.
- Mistakes that can not be erased should have one line through the stricken section. Every effort should be made to make the assignment digital, not in handwriting.
- No assignments will be accepted with the ragged edge out of a notebook (either use regular notebook paper or trim the edges before turning in
- Assignments submitted in something other than black ink, pencil, or typewritten will be returned to the student to recopy.
Please feel free to turn in projects/papers at a “rough draft” stage for instructor support. Points will be deducted for not following the above guidelines.
Please note that a paper or report that is plagiarized will result in an automatic grade of “0”. Plagiarism will not be tolerated in this class under any circumstances.
