Not everyone who has ever published a book or article knows what they are talking about. There are always those out there who just want to make a buck. So how can you decide whether or not a source is valid and worth your time? Here's an easy way to begin. Read over the criteria below and decided if the source you are evaluating displays those criteria or not using a scale of 1-5; 1 being the worst and 5 being the best in the criterion. Then write a brief evaluation of the source.
NOTE: You will need the information requested below including the title, author, city, publication date, etc. for your citation.
There are a total of 5 crieteria. So, in general, a score of:
23-25 = Excellent 21-22 = Good 19-20 = Fair 18 and below = Poor
