⭐Parent/Student lunches will be Mondays starting September 23rd. Due to Increased enrollment and limited space in the cafeteria, we will be sending out a weekly sign up form. To allow for everyone who would like to visit, we are limiting parents to one lunch visit per month with no more than two adults per student. The adults visiting during lunch will need to be listed in Skyward. The sign up to attend lunch with your student will be posted on this weekly parent newsletter. Please reach out to me if you have additional questions. There will be additional information to follow.
⭐September is Attendance Awareness Month. Students who have perfect attendance for the month of September will be entered into a drawing to win prizes. We are also competing against other elementary schools in the district for the highest attendance. Help us show that Beaver is the best elementary school in the district!
⭐Check out the information below about our first schoolwide PBIS challenge and be sure to ask your student how they demonstrate being a Beaver STAR!

THE GOLDEN RULE: Respectful Manners
Counselor Corner
-By Mrs. Sinclair
This week 5th graders learned about their learning style during WOW Time. Students took a learning inventory to learn if they are visual, auditory, or kinesthetic learners. Once they learned their learning style, they learned study tips that would help them this year and in middle school. Be sure to ask your students what their learning style is!
This week 4th graders learned how to use their class time wisely. We looked at 24 activities to decide if they were a good use of work time or a waste of work time. Students listened to three case studies and made connections between study habits and work performance. Then students identified one thing they should do more of in class and one thing they should do less of during class time.
The NED Show is coming to Beaver Tech next week!
Students will be learning how to:
Never Give Up
Encourage Others
Do Your Best
Have Resiliency and how to bounce back
The NED Show is an engaging and interactive show with the use of yo-yo tricks!
We will be selling yo-yos from September 17-27 from 7:30-8:00 am in the main hallway. Yo-yos cost $10-$18.
As a parent, it can be hard to see our students struggle. Kids who are able to handle life's difficulties are resilient and have grit.
Here are some ways to build resiliency in your child:
Don't shield your child or rescue them from difficult experiences.
Let them experience disappointment so they learn that sadness doesn't last forever.
Let your child take reasonable risks and experience natural consequences.
Encourage them to try new things, make mistakes, and learn from their mistakes.
Give them opportunities to make their own decisions and help them problem solve.
Tell them examples of how you have faced hard times, persisted, and grew stronger.
Validate their fears and help them make plans to do things even if they're scared.
Remind them that we can't control everything that happens to us, but we can control how we respond.
