A word from your Proud Principal, Mrs. Garcia:
Our campus has been awarded an "A" rating! This achievement is a testament to the hard work, dedication, and collaboration of our incredible students, staff, and, of course, our supportive families.
This recognition reflects our commitment to academic excellence, innovative learning, and the positive environment we strive to create daily. From our Project Based Learning initiatives to the focus on social-emotional learning and the many enrichment opportunities we offer, each piece of our puzzle has played a role in this accomplishment.
We couldn’t have done it without the continued partnership of our families. Your involvement, encouragement, and trust in our vision have been key in helping us reach this milestone. We are proud of our Beaver MST community and look forward to continuing this journey of success together!
Let’s keep up the great work as we build on this momentum for even more amazing things to come!
Upcoming Dates:

October 31
Many students are very excited to wear costumes on 10/31.
Please remember that all costumes should be school-appropriate.
This means no scary or violent themes, no masks that cover the entire face, and no weapons or weapon-like props.
Also, costumes should not interfere with students’ ability to participate in schoolwork, move, or function independently throughout the day.
We want to maintain a safe and comfortable environment.
Let’s have a fun and festive day together!
Tuesday, November 5

⭐Parent lunches on Mondays: Please remember to sign up using the sign up genius (posted on class dojo), sign up only once per month to allow everyone to participate, and remove your name if you are unable to attend.
⭐This will be the last week for our schoolwide challenge which focuses on respect. Students can earn super star tickets for showing respect to the school, their teachers, and their peers. The winning grade level will have a party, and the class with the most super star tickets in that grade level will get an extra special surprise. Thank you for all you do to support our efforts to ensure our students are all Beaver Stars who are supportive, team players, adaptable, respectful, and shine bright!
⭐Parents of 5th graders: A letter was sent home by your student's homeroom teacher about CogAT. Please make sure your student is well rested and has a good breakfast on Monday in order to allow them to do their best. A few students will be taking the test Tuesday along with students who are absent Monday. The letter sent home will let you know if your student is testing on Monday or Tuesday.

Does your student need help with Executive Functioning skills? Do they have ADHD and need to develop skills like organization, self-control, paying attention, and working memory?
If so, sign your child up for the Beaver Brain Boosters! Ms. Sinclair will be hosting a special club on Thursday afternoons from 3:30 - 4:30 pm.
There are 12 spots for 2nd - 5th graders.
We'll practice and develop important executive functioning skills through games and activities!
If you are interested in having your child become a Brain Booster, email Ms. Sinclair: alsincla@garlandisd.net
Red Ribbon Week was a success! Our students learned a lot about making healthy choices and staying drug-free!
The first thing to know about absences is that attendance matters!!
Missing school can result in loss of learning and missed social opportunities, resulting in frustration for our students.
Poor attendance can influence whether children are able to read proficiently by the end of 3rd grade.
By 6th grade, chronic absences become a leading indicator of whether a student will drop out of high school.
Missing two school days a month is considered chronic absence. Research shows chronic absences negatively affects a student's academic performance.
Have a goal of missing 3 days or less this school year!
How can you help your student decrease their absences?
Encourage students to stay healthy by washing their hands, using hand sanitizer, and keeping space between them and other students.
Plan vacations during school breaks instead of when school is in session.
Try to miss fewer days than the amount your student was absent last year.
Create consistent routines, such as bedtimes and morning schedules, to help students be well-rested and prepared for school.
Be aware of school activities and encourage your child to participate. Feeling connected at school helps students want to be a part of what's happening at Beaver!
