Check out these updates:
⭐The Give Big Mission has been a success so far! Students are practicing skills like gratitude. Encouraging kids to be grateful is an important part of fostering empathy, positivity, and resilience. We are looking forward to another week with our STARS!
⭐ The middle of the year MAP window is opening soon. MAP testing for all grades, Kinder- 5th, will be December 2-December 20.
⭐ Attendance Matters! Attendance is crucial for students because it significantly impacts their academic success, personal development, and future opportunities . Attending school consistently helps students develop routines and responsibility, preparing them for the structure of work or higher education. We want our students to present and learn. Attendance is important!
Counselor Corner
-By Mrs. Sinclair
Join our fall service project from Nov. 11 to Nov. 22, as we focus on GIVING & GRATITUDE with THE GIVE BIG MISSION!
During The Give Big Mission, our students will be learning about how to give to others and showing gratitude. Kids will have a chance to practice these character traits with daily missions.
During Nov. 11-22, we are collecting cereal boxes to donate to Good Samaritans of Garland. Our goal is to collect 600 or more boxes. Please send cereal boxes to school with your child!
When we meet our goal, we will line the cereal boxes in the hallway like dominos and knock them over!
The class with the most cereal boxes will win the MEGA SPOON! The grade level with the most cereal boxes will win a cereal party!
Thank you for helping us teach our students how to give and be grateful!
So far, we have collected almost 300 boxes! We're halfway to our goal!!
Interested in seeing what your child does during a school day? Come be a Watch DOG!
When you volunteer as a Watch DOG, you can check out your student's typical school day, as well as get to know other Beaver Stars! It's a great way to help our teachers and staff and be a positive role model for our students!
We have many openings throughout the school year.

During the month of November and December, students will be exploring different careers during counseling class in WOW Time!
Check out our focus for each grade:
Kindergarten - Community Helpers
1st grade - Connecting our interests with future jobs
2nd grade - Every career uses different tools
3rd grade - Introduction to career clusters
4th grade - Connecting our interests and strengths with careers in career clusters
5th grade - Career inventory to determine which career cluster would be a good fit
Helping elementary kids explore different career interests can be both fun and educational. It's never too early to begin the conversation about your child's future and it could save them from a lot of indecision later. Here are some effective ways you can encourage their career exploration:
Encourage curiosity - ask open ended questions about what they enjoy doing and what interests them.
Expose them to different professions - take them to different places and point out the behind-the-scenes work being done.
Talk about different jobs - share interesting stories about your own job or other professions and what schooling or training is needed to do each job.
Hands-on activities - engage them in different activities like science experiements, art projects, cooking, or helping others. These could relate to different careers.
Encourage role play and dress up - let your kids dress up in career costumes and pretend to do different jobs
Career Day - join our Beaver Career Day in the spring and speak to your student's class!
