A word from your Proud Principal, Mrs. Garcia:
I wanted to take a moment to recognize and celebrate the incredible work of our custodial staff here at Beaver. Their hard work and dedication play a crucial role in keeping our campus safe, clean, and welcoming for all of us. Whether it's ensuring our classrooms are spotless, maintaining our shared spaces, or going the extra mile during special events, their contributions are vital to the smooth running of our school.
We had a wonderful time celebrating them recently, and it was heartwarming to see our appreciation for all they do. Our custodial staff may work behind the scenes, but their impact is felt by everyone, every day. We are so fortunate to have such a dedicated team who takes pride in their work and helps make our school a great place to learn, teach, and grow.
Thank you once again to our custodial staff—you are truly appreciated!

During the month of October, students will be learning about Healthy Choices & Drug Prevention. Beaver Stars will focus on learning the difference between helpful drugs (medicine) and harmful drugs for children (alcohol, tobacco, and illegal drugs). We'll also focus on making healthy choices for our bodies like eating healthy foods and using healthy coping skills, so we can focus on reaching our goals for the future!
We'll conclude the month with Red Ribbon Week on October 21-25! We've got many fun activities, spirit days, and a coloring contest that week! This year's Red Ribbon theme is "Life is a Movie! Film Drug Free!"
Spirit Days:
Monday 10/21 - We're RED-y to live drug free! Wear red!
Tuesday 10/22 - We're embracing our inner joy! Wear your clothes inside out!
Wednesday 10/23 - Slam Dunk! Drugs are junk! Wear sports or team gear!
Thursday 10/24 - We scare drugs away! Wear a school appropriate costume!
Friday 10/25 - Be the hero in your own story! Wear a superhero shirt or cape!
The best time to start talking to your students about illegal drugs and drug addiction is while they're in elementary school.
Rather than having one big conversation about drugs, keep the conversation going with a series of small conversations.
Make sure your kids know who is allowed to give them medicine and tell them they should never take medicine or candy from someone else. Tell them only mom, dad, a grandparent, or a doctor may give them medicine.
Tell your kids that there is a dangerous substance called Fentanyl that is often put into pills and other substances.
Let your child know that Fentanyl is very dangerous and that "one pill can kill". It takes a very small amount to overdose.
Be aware of the signs of an overdose: unresponsive, shallow breathing, blue or gray lips or fingernails, no response to stimulus (like being pinched), gurgling/wheezing/snoring sound
Having Narcan available can save a life!

Something SPECIAL
-By the Specials Team
Over the past 2 weeks, our K-5 students have been having a blast learning the basics of volleyball with balloons! They've practiced important skills like tracking the ball, volleying on their own and with a partner, and passing both underhand and overhead. These activities have been great for building coordination and teamwork.
Next week, we’re excited to put those skills to the test in some fun games! Students will get the chance to show off what they've learned and enjoy friendly matches with their classmates. We can’t wait to see their teamwork and sportsmanship on the court!
