Holiday Activities Programme FAQ

General

Who can sign up for UWC East Holiday Activities Programme?

Our Holiday Activities Programme are open to all UWC East students and the local community. Opening to non UWCSEA East is also subject to covid guidelines currently in place by UWCSEA.

I am not from UWC East, can I join the programmes?

Yes, our programmes are open to local community. Opening to non UWCSEA East is also subject to covid guidelines currently in place by UWCSEA. Please contact us to find our more.

How many activities can I sign up for?

There is no limit to the number of camps a student can participate as long as the camps do not clash with each other.

Students can select up to 5 options in order of preference per week online during the sign up duration. We encourage you to select alternative preferences in order to have the best chance of being allocated.

Which Grade level Activities should I look at when signing up?

You select based on the grade your child is in for the current academic year.

Are there any siblings considerations during activity allocations?

Unfortunately there is no way to guarantee this, as there are limited Activity spaces available and our primary consideration when allocating is to provide children with their preferred choice of activity. To maximise the chance of siblings having an activity on the same day and time we recommend that, if desired, you select the same activity for the siblings or activities that run at the same times.

I missed the sign up window, what should I do?

Should you miss the sign up window, please drop east_activities@gapps.uwcsea.edu.sg an email.

I / My Parents missed the payment deadline, what should I do?

If payment has not been made by the deadline all such places will be allocated to other students.

Note: Only a Parent's account ID can be used for payments.

Can I switch activities after confirmation?

There will be no switches (transfers to different activities or days) after you have registered and paid.

What is the refund policy?

In the event that the Holiday Activities Programme should be required to close, participants will be refunded for the activities not attended. If you need to withdraw due to illness/injury we will follow the school refund policy:

Are there make up sessions for missed days?

There will be no make up classes for missed days due to illness, weather, appointments, etc.

Transport / Food

Will there be bus transport during the week?

There is no bus transport available. Families will have to make their own transport arrangements to and from campus.

The rationale for not providing Transport: To provide a bus service for students to be on Campus between 2-4hours at times varying from 6.30am until 6.30pm was sadly not logistically possible.

Will Santai / Sodexo be open?

Santai and Sodexo will be closed during this period. We encourage students to bring their own packed snacks to school.

Can I stay on campus to have my packed lunch while I wait for my afternoon camp?

Students who are on full-day camps (9am - 3pm/4pm) will have their lunch break in the school canteen. Please note that there are no lunch supervision and students will be on their own.

K1 - Grade 2 Students: Students should be supervised by an accompanying adult (parent/guardian) during lunch time.

Should I pack snacks?

Yes, we strongly encourage students to bring along a packed snack and their own water bottle. There will be a 10-15mins snack time for students during camps.

Health & Safety

I just got vaccinated, can I join the programme?

Students who have taken any dose of the Covid-19 mRNA vaccine should avoid strenuous exercise or physical activity for two weeks after their vaccination.

Programmes like Dance and Sports are considered physical activities and should be avoided.

Students can continue to participate in classroom based programmes during the two weeks post vaccination.

Will I have to wear a mask during my activity?

The recent announcement from the Ministry of Health (MoH) regarding mask regulations means that from Monday 29 August 2022, masks are no longer required and will be optional in classrooms, offices, cafes or any other air-conditioned spaces on campus.

Whilst masks are no longer required indoors, we understand that mask-removal is a personal choice and some staff, students and parents may prefer to continue wearing a mask indoors. There is no requirement to remove masks and as a community, we respect and support one another’s choices.

Will there be medical onsite during the week?

The school clinic will be open from 9am - 4pm for the duration of the holiday activities programme.
