Infant School Activities
Head of Primary School Activities
Infant School students have plenty of opportunities to explore their interests through the learning programme. There are myriad opportunities for them to try out new things, build social skills and develop resilience and perseverance—all the skills and qualities that the Activities programme is designed to develop.
When the Infant School finishes at 2pm, we have a small number of after school activities open to students. These include both activities led by teachers and other ones led by specialist coaches, which charge a fee. The activities on offer vary depending on age, and all activities are aimed at supporting students in broadening their interests, building their social skills and developing their resilience and perseverance.
The Activities programme expands further when the students move into the Junior School in Grade 2, when the school day extends to a 3pm finish and enables students to join the more extensive programme offered at that time.

Our Values In Action
Learning by doing – is at the heart of a UWCSEA education. Our students know that breadth and depth of understanding and knowledge is achieved not by academic inquiry alone, but by being connected to, and immersed in, the world around them.
Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, Justice and Belonging in Activities
As a school our mission is to make education a force for peace and a sustainable future. UWCSEA is committed to being a community where all individuals have a sense of belonging, and where different identities and ways of being are respected and valued.
Gender Inclusion Guidelines for Sports
All UWCSEA students participate in physical activity classes and other sporting activities in a manner consistent with their gender identity, provided there are no significant concerns regarding student safety or equitable competition.

Top 3 Frequently Asked Questions - Infant Activities
How many activities can an Infant Student sign up for?
K1: Max 1 day of Activity per week in Season 1. Max 3 days of Activities per week in Seasons 2,3, 4
K2-G1: Max 3 days of Activities per week for each Season
I signed up for my child's activities immediately when the portal opened, why did my child not get the activity?
Activities sign-up is not on a first come first serve basis. It does not matter if you are the first or the last to submit your child's entries. Allocations are done based on a student's priority preference.
When a popular activity is oversubscribed, allocations will be done in the following priority sequence:
1st priority - students who have listed the activity as their top 3 selections and have not had the opportunity to experience the activity
2nd priority - returning students from previous seasons will be allocated based on their priority preference
What is the rationale behind limiting students to 3 Activities per season?
Students of this age group should have a well-balanced weekly routine and not be too overwhelmed with activities.

Music Activities
Music ensembles in the activities programme foster well-rounded musicians. Students develop greater musicianship when rehearsing and performing with others.

East Home & Community Languages
Through the Home & Community Language program, students can choose to study their mother tongue language, which is the language spoken in the student's home, and receive support from language teachers who are native speakers of that language. The program offers a range of language classes, including but not limited to Chinese, Korean, Japanese, Hindi, Tamil, and French.
