Dragons Swimming
The Dragons Swim Team is currently the most attended activity/club at UWCSEA East, boasting in excess of 400 swimmers. The programme ranges from Learn to Swim in K1, to our senior national swimming programme and beyond. With incredible facilities and six full-time coaches, the Dragons have become a major force in the international school swimming scene, and continue to go from strength to strength.
UWC East have had success in recent years, which is predominantly due to a change in training and preparation. However, the future of the Dragons team is in the hands of our younger generation of swimmers and parents. Our progressive training programme is designed to produce elite athletes for the future as well as encouraging youngsters to enjoy swimming for the rest of their lives. Training a 7 year old like an Olympian is a common mistake which leads to a high dropout rate in teenage years. This is something we aim to eradicate allowing the Dragons to produce recreational, College, Commonwealth and Olympic swimmers in later years.
