The UWCSEA Foundation supports the College in its ambition to become a leader in Education for Sustainable Development. Funding raised through the Foundation has particularly strengthened the development of our Environmental Sustainability initiatives over over the last 5 years. The appointment of Environmental Stewardship Co-ordinators within the College was made possible through a generous donation to the Foundation and this has allowed a wide variety of projects to flourish and link to the rest of the Learning programme. Many of these also supported through the Foundation are outlined below.

It is hoped that this might be replicated at East Campus also. You can read more about the project on our Building and operations page.
Incredible Edible is a Dover Gardening Project supported by the Foundations' Annual Fund that teaches food growing though twice weekly gardening as part of the Service Programme. The group regularly sell their produce at UWCSEA events to offset running costs.
The Budden Composting Initiative (see story via picture below) started as a competition to attract young innovators needing funds to start projects and has now become a major part of our Environmental Stewardship programme, attracting interest from schools and universities across Singapore. A Creative Re-use Centre at East was funded through gifts to the Annual Fund and serves to offer practical opportunities for the infants to engage with the Reggio Emilia - inspired curriculum as well as contributing to learning for a zero-waste culture from an early age.
