Coaching Experience:
Coach Subodhana has been shaping cricketers since 2011, when he began coaching Ceylon Sports Club in the Singapore Cricket Association (SCA) League. Over more than a decade, he has developed players across the Premier Division, Division 1, Division 2 and Division 4, helping teams compete consistently at the top of Singapore's club cricket scene.
His coaching has produced results year after year, including championship-winning seasons. Ceylon Sports Club won the SCA Division 2 Championship in 2012, the Division 1 Championship in 2022 and the Premier Division Championship in 2023. These are just a few of the many achievements under his guidance. His teams have also reached the podium again and again, with 3rd-place finishes in Division 2 (2013), Division 1 (2014 and 2015) and Division 4 (2018), and a 2nd-place finish in Division 1 (2016). Staying competitive across multiple divisions and seasons reflects his ability to build teams that last.
Playing Experience
Coach Subodhana's cricket story began at Wesley College in Sri Lanka, where he progressed through the U13, U15 and U17 teams to the 1st XI, and was named Best Player in the Inter House Cricket Tournament in 1999. In 2003 he brought that foundation to Singapore, and for 23 years he has competed in the national league, a rare level of longevity at the top of the local game.
Today, he still plays in the Premier Division and Division 1, and he continues to perform at the highest level of the domestic competition. Over the years he has represented Ceylon Sports Club, Lanka Lions Cricket Club and Singapore Indoor Cricket, playing in the SCA leagues and many other overseas competitions. He has led from the front as captain and vice-captain at both Ceylon Sports Club and Lanka Lions, and was named Best All-Rounder (2012-2019) and Best Bowler (2012-2018) in Divisions 1 and 2. His career includes the Division 2 Championship in 2012, the Division 1 Championship in 2022 and the Premier Division Championship in 2023, along with various other titles.
Beyond playing and coaching, he has given his time to the wider game. He completed a strength and conditioning assignment with the Singapore Indoor Cricket team, a short stint aimed at supporting and developing the indoor cricket community.
Twenty-three years of playing at a high level, and still competing today, give him a first-hand understanding of what it takes to perform, which he brings to every young cricketer he works with.
