We follow the UWCSEA Seasons (4) throughout the year, and have breaks in the UWCSEA school holidays.
Season fees will be pro-rated for students who join after the season starts, based on their first day of attendance.
Overview:
Programme 1: Unity Game Development: Real code. Studio games. True 3D (G4 - G7)
We all play 3D games. Now let us create them! Using the Unity® game engine and the C# programming language, the same combination behind hits like Pokémon GO, Among Us and Subway Surfers, you will build your own 3D and 2D games. Along the way, you will pick up coding, logic and creative thinking skills that will serve you well beyond gaming.
During this activity, you will:
Design your own game worlds and characters
Understand and write C# code that will make your characters run, jump and crash
Develop game logic, from obstacles and scores to game-over rules, that makes games fun
Learn the building blocks of code, including variables, conditions and functions, and how maths and physics make everything move
Finish with playable games to share with family and friends
No experience needed. We will guide you step by step.
Programme 2: Minecraft Thinklab - Creativity, Critical Thinking and Coding (G3 - G6)
Imagine the fun of playing and learning in the same world! This Minecraft Education* programme takes you on an adventurous journey where you will create whatever you imagine. You will plan complex structures, build them and automate tasks by writing and understanding code. Along the way, you will start to think like an architect, an engineer and a programmer, developing skills around:
Architectural Design and Engineering: Design and build functional structures, applying spatial reasoning at every step
Navigation and 3D Coordinates: Learn about coordinates and use them to teleport and place blocks at precise locations
Applied Mathematics: Practice geometry, area, volume and distance calculations before laying each block
Coding and Logical Sequencing: Learn the basics of algorithms and write simple code that automates tasks and spawns objects
Resource Management: Plan, gather, store and use raw materials efficiently
* Minecraft Education is a secure, classroom-friendly platform designed for learning, with strong built-in safety and privacy controls.
