Ensure you have passed all required Praxis Content exams for your certification area.
Scores must be officially reported by ETS to both:
WKU
EPSB (Education Professional Standards Board)
Important: WKU and EPSB cannot accept score reports submitted by students.

When registering, be sure you select Kentucky (KY) as your testing state, as requirements vary by state.
PLT (Principles of Learning and Teaching) Requirements:
The PLT is not required for:
Interdisciplinary Early Childhood (IECE)
Learning and Behavior Disorders (LBD)
All other certification areas must pass the PLT
For K–12 certifications (Art, PE, Music, FCS, Agriculture Education):
Only one PLT exam is required
You may choose the grade band you prefer

Request that your official WKU transcript be sent to EPSB after your degree is awarded
Do not request transcripts until you receive confirmation from the Registrar that your degree has been posted
This may take up to one week after graduation

Follow instructions to complete the CA-1 application
You will need to complete the following sections:
Out-of-State License
Degrees (you will verify your degree here)
Character and Fitness
Once completed, all required sections should show green checkmarks

Your application will be processed once all required items are received:
Official Praxis scores (sent directly from ETS)
Confirmation that your degree has been awarded
Processing Time:
Typically 7–10 business days, often sooner depending on volume

To allow staff to process applications as quickly as possible, please avoid frequent status inquiries unless necessary.
A $85 certification fee is required
This fee is paid directly through your EPSB account
Important:
WKU cannot collect or process this payment
Your application will not move forward until the fee is paid
