Lesson: -Diversity Cultural Pursuit
Grade: 10
Objective: This activity is designed to challenge the participants’ knowledge of different religious, and national histories and how they are relevant to current events.
ASCA Mindsets & Behaviors Standard (s): B-SS 2: Create positive and supportive relationships with other students B-SS 7: Use leadership and teamwork skills to work effectively in diverse teams.
Materials:
Cultural Pursuit Handout (in mailbox) Cultural Pursuit
Procedure:
Pass out a copy of the questionnaire to every student. Explain Instructions:
The participants move around the room trying to find people within the group who know the answer to the questions.
As the participants find answers to the questions they should have that person initial their sheet.
Students are only allowed to answer one question on each other student’s sheet and can answer only one question on their own sheet.
Students are NOT allowed to use their cell phones/Google for this activity
Set Time Limit (10-15 minutes)

Do you think it is important that we know the answers to these kinds of questions? Why?
Is it important to know more about the history of other religions and countries? Why?
Did you think some people might know the answers over others?

Did you ever think you should know the answer to a question you didn’t?
Were you ever asked specific questions multiple times?
Why do we think certain people will know the answer?
