Part I:

Topic: College & Career Readiness/College Terminology Vocab (Password Game)

Objective: Students will learn vocabulary terms related to college planning.

ASCA Mindsets & Behaviors Standard (s); M 4: Understanding that post-secondary education and life-long learning are necessary for long-term career success; Iowa College and Career Readiness: Students have set goals for school, career, and post-secondary opportunities and are knowledgeable about a wide variety of pathways and requirements to achieve these goals.

Materials:

• Password Game PowerPoint (very bottom below)-**Note- you must download it fully as a Ppt in order for it to work. Open in new tab, then click on down arrow, it will appear in bottom right hand corner.

Procedures:

• 1. Divide class into 2 teams- take turns picking 1 student from team to stand with back to this presentation.

  2. Team members gives the student clues to the vocabulary word onscreen (cannot say the word or part of the word in the clue) as a clock keeps time.

  3. The student tries to guess the word before the buzzer (1 point per correct word).

  4. Review any terms students are unfamiliar with.
