Staff training

District School Nurses routinely provide employee training for health clerk technicians, teachers, and/or front office staff.

Topics include but not limited to:

· Asthma-Inhaler/Nebulizer Use

· Anaphylaxis

· Diabetes Care

· Field Trip Trainings

· Medication Management

· Seizures

Specialty physical healthcare procedure training is provided on a one-on-one basis for health clerk technicians and instructional aide staff. Procedures performed at school must have a Specialized Healthcare Procedure Authorization form completed by the physician. Parents/guardians must provide all supplies.

Topics include but not limited to:

· Catheterization

· Colostomy/Ostomy

· Emergency Seizure Medication

· G-Tube Feedings

· Medically Fragile

· Oral Suctioning

· Oxygen Administration

· Tracheostomy
