Healthy Students Learn Better, School Nurses Empower Students to be Successful.
Health Services
Moreno Valley USD consists of ten district school nurses who coordinate and oversee the delivery of health services to nearly 34,000 students under the Director of Child Welfare and Attendance. District nurses are licensed Registered Nurses (RNs) with a Bachelors and Master’s Degree, as well as a School Nurse Credential issued by the California Commission on Teacher Credentialing.
The school nurse is assigned several school sites and is available for guidance and support. Each health office has a Health Clerk Technician (HCT) who teams with the school nurse to assist with medication given during school hours, provide daily first aid, maintain school health records, and communicate with parents/guardian. All Health Clerk Technicians are trained in Basic First Aid and CPR.
