National Board Certification, developed by the National Board for Professional Teaching Standards, is the most respected professional certification available in education and provides numerous benefits to teachers, students and schools. It was designed to develop, retain and recognize accomplished teachers and to generate ongoing improvement in schools nationwide. Recognized as the gold standard in teacher certification, the National Board believes higher standards for teachers means better learning for students.
Hays CISD has developed a National Board Certified Teacher program to assist and support teachers pursuing their national board certification. Hays CISD has partnered with Texas National Board Coalition for Teaching to provide support and guidance as teachers work towards certification.
