Intramural sports official
WAGE RATE: $10.00 per hour
SUPERVISOR: Intramural Sports Graduate Assistant
JOB FUNCTION: Responsible for officiating intramural league and tournament games.
HOURS: 5 - 20 hours per week

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Officiate a variety of intramural sports including basketball, flag football, soccer, volleyball, softball and assist with other sports/events as needed.
Act as a main point of contact for over 650 individual participants.
Ensure participation safety by having a strong knowledge of rules, policies and procedures as well as proper field set up and game management.
Provide exceptional customer service to participants by having strong communication while also interacting with players in a respectful, cooperative manner.
Maintain a professional appearance and attitude throughout games.
Properly respond to emergencies by following the department’s Emergency Action Procedures.
Assist with promotion of intramural sports/events through tabling and other marketing strategies.
Assist with other duties as assigned (may result in help with other departments within Recreation Services).

HOURS: 10 - 20 hours per week

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Ensure participation safety by having a strong knowledge of rules, policies and procedures as well as proper field set up and game management for over 350 games a year.
Act as a main point of contact for over 650 individual participants.
Develop, train, teach and evaluate a student staff of 10-15 officials by leading staff trainings, giving feedback through games and completing yearly staff evaluations.
Provide exceptional customer service to participants by having strong communication while also interacting with players in a respectful, cooperative manner.
Adequately track and submit participation statistics by checking in 1,300 yearly participants.
Properly submit all game scores, incident/accident reports, forfeit and employee performance reports.
Properly respond and take lead on emergencies by following the department’s Emergency Action Procedures.
Assist with promotion of intramural sports/events through tabling and other marketing strategies.
Assist with other duties as assigned (may result in help with other departments within Recreation Services).
