What is Corky's Combine?

Similar to the NFL Combine, members of the Student Rec Center will show off their skills in the 40 yard dash, vertical jump, broad jump, 5-10-5 agility, and bench press for reps. The front desk as well as our website will keep an all time record book. This event will be held every spring. (est. 2024)

Vertical Jump

The vertical jump is a test of vertical power. It measures how high you can jump from a standing start. You get as many attempts as you like. Taking a step into your jump or tucking your knees on the landing will not be recorded.

Bench Press Reps

Bench press is a test of upper body strength. Pick the highest weight you can lift of 45, 135, and 225 lbs. Keeping your back on the bench, perform as many reps as you can. Clean reps are up to the judge's discretion.

Broad Jump 

Broad jump is a standing long jump. It measures your horizontal explosiveness by jumping as far as you can from a standing position. Your toes must start behind the line, and your mark is measured from your farthest back heel. Your hands can touch the ground but only in front of you. Feet sliding or hands landing behind you will result in a scratch.

40 Yard Dash

The 40 is a simple test of acceleration and speed. Start behind the line, and the clock will start off your first forward movement. Sprint through the finish line and record your score.

5-10-5 Agility

The 5-10-5 is a test of change of direction and quickness. Starting over the middle of three lines that are 5 yards apart, run and touch one of them with your hand, turn and run 10 yards to the other line, and finish through the line you started at. Feet must straddle the line and your nearest hand has to be on the ground to start.
