group fitness instructor
WAGE RATE: $10.00 per hour
SUPERVISOR: Fitness and Wellness Graduate Assistant
JOB FUNCTION: Responsible for constructing and leading group exercise class workouts
HOURS: 5 - 20 hours per week

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Develop and instruct a variety of group fitness classes/wellness workshops that educate participants’ proper form and technique for a variety of fitness levels.
Act as a main point of contact in a program that caters to over 325 individual participants.
Ensure participant safety by having a strong knowledge of proper exercise safety technique and form while providing inclusive instruction.
Provide exceptional customer service to participants by having strong communication while also building connections/relationships with class participants.
Maintain a professional appearance and attitude throughout classes.
Properly respond to emergencies by following the department’s Emergency Action Procedures.
Assist with promotion of fitness events/meetings/trainings through involvement/participation and other marketing strategies.
Assist with other duties as assigned (may result in help with other departments within Recreation Services).

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Lead and develop a training plan for clients that educates them on proper form and technique for a variety of fitness levels.
Develop a training plans for clients built around their personal fitness goals and motivates them to continue to foster a healthy lifestyle. (Trainer must proceed to stay within their scope of practice).
Act as a main point of contact in a program that trains over 60 clients and 600 hours of personal training.

Provide exceptional customer service to participants by having strong communication while also building connections/relationships.
