Artist Research
Choose an artist below OR come up with your own. Must be an established contemporary artist - this means you should be able to find their work and information about them from multiple sources. You may also choose to research a particular art movement or style.
Record your research in your sketchbook. Include photos of their work. Find background information about your artist. What does the artist say about his work? What do others say about him? How does the artist approach a theme or subject? How does the artist use materials? What's his process? What drew you to the artist? What can you learn from him?

If you see something you like elsewhere (like Pinterest, Tumbler, DeviantArt - you need to make sure you can identify the artist and can find information about them online from multiple legitimate sources.
