Goal: Create a simplistic, yet exaggerated design that utilizes the principles of art listed above to engage the viewer through story or that illustrates an idea through symbolism and metaphors.
Process:
1. Think about how you can connect the artwork to portray a narrative from your life. Direct your focus on three different subjects or events that have had a profound effect on you.
2. Make a list of images that can be used to illustrate each story.
3. Create several thumbnail sketches to plan out what images would work best to represent your narrative. Remember that you're creating this artwork with a minimalist style. You also don't need to outright show what happened exactly as it happened. I encourage you to use symbolism and It's alright to exaggerate to get your point across.
4. Create three rough sketches that contain more detail than the thumbnails. Use some form of color to see how this will affect the mood of the design.
5. Create your final composition on the computer. You may use Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator, but due to the simplicity of the design Illustrator will probably work best. Don't forget about the areas of focus listed above!
