Goal: David Hockney: photography style to photograph an unusual interior or exterior space.
Process:
1. Begin in your sketchbook by brainstorming places or spaces that you would like to show.
Questions to ask for determining what to shoot for your “Unusual spaces”:
Things to think about when shooting the “Unusual Space”:
2. Select your final place/space and choose the time of day (if that is relevant) and go shoot your space. You may want to check out a tripod to do this. When you are ready to start shooting, think about how you read from left to right. What do you want to show? Adjust your tripod so that you are level, and then from that, tilt your camera up and down. Make sure to stay on one path.
3.You will take a TON of photographs. The more you take, the less likely you are to have to reshoot.
4. Once you have all of your photos shot, you will need to decide whether you would like to digitally arrange the photographs in Photoshop, or print them, arrange them on mat or poster board. Either way is fine. Remember as you are laying these out to pay special attention to how the viewer will perceive the space. Does it make sense? Draw them in?
