April 17, 2026
Kelly Mill Family,
We had a great week following spring break and loved having our students back in the building. This week, we also celebrated Exceptional Children’s Week. Each day, students wore different colors to honor various exceptionalities, and they participated in lessons and activities to build understanding, empathy, and awareness. It was a meaningful week of learning and connection for our Colts.
There is lots of new information in this week’s newsletter, so please take a few moments to review it carefully. Here are a few important items for planning:
Georgia Milestones Testing will take place April 27 – May 1, with make-up testing the following week.
The last day to join your child for lunch will be Friday, April 24 due to testing, field days, class parties, and end-of-year events.
Please note that students are not allowed to check out after 1:30 PM. This includes field day events, meaning there will be no checkouts after the final sessions for Kindergarten and 5th grade. Please plan ahead and adjust transportation if your child will be a car rider on those days.
Be sure to RSVP for any events on campus so your badge is ready upon arrival, and always bring a photo ID to ensure smooth entry so you don’t miss the fun!
Be sure to check out the full newsletter below for additional upcoming events and important information.
Thank you for your continued support—it’s a great time to be a Colt who CARES!
Be sure to take time to rest, recharge, and relax with those you love!
Love,
Mrs. Moity

THANK YOU to our amazing PTO! The K-2 Playground Project is complete! We are so grateful for the generous contributions from our KME families which contributed to funding this project. Not only does the turf look amazing, the project also addressed some drainage issues which impacted accessibility after rainy days.
We'd love your input on your child's learning preferences and the ideal classroom environment for their success. This information is vital for us to ensure the best placement.
Please share details about your child's personality, how they interact with others (self-advocacy, functioning in a crowd, leader/follower), and any other helpful insights. Your comprehensive feedback, combined with input from current/former teachers and counselors, helps us better understand their placement needs.
While we are unable to honor specific teacher requests, you are welcome to mention if another child of yours had a positive experience with a particular teacher.
Please submit a separate form for EACH child by Friday, April 17th.
We have truly enjoyed having you visit for lunch with your child throughout this school year. Due to end of year Milestone testing and end of year celebrations, we will no longer be able to accommodate lunch visits after April 24th for the remainder of the school year.
We appreciate your understanding and look forward to welcoming you back for lunch visits next school year!
