Beginning July 1, 2025, SLEs will be an option for certificated staff only. Educators on the new MSDE licensure system will follow new requirements of the IPDP as it relates to PDPs.
Please read carefully and follow the pre-approval guidelines.
A specialized learning experience is defined as a professional learning opportunity that supports the unique learning needs of FCPS certificated staff. These specialized learning experiences vary in structure, time, and expectations. However, the fluidity of these experiences allows identified professionals (e.g. SLP’s, counselors/therapists, specialty contents) greater access to content-specific, credit-bearing experiences.
Beginning October 2019, certificated staff members may earn no more than six (6) MSDE specialized learning credits per certification cycle.
