Articulation Disorder
Articulation Disorder is defined as a subcategory of a speech sound disorder that is characterized by atypical productions of phonemes in the form of substitutions, omissions, additions, or disortions that may interfere with intelligibility. (ASHA, 2014)
Deals with errors in individual speech sounds
S.O.D.A
Substitutions: consistently replacing one sound for another
Omission (deletion): consistent deletion of a certain sound
Distortion: unintelligible/incorrect production of a certain sound
Addition: "epethesis" - insertion of a sound into a word where it does not belong
