Once a Threat has been Identified, training dictates the number one priority is to Save Lives! Staff and Students are trained to respond to keep themselves safe and then make the necessary communications to include: 911 call, Notifying the office, Alerting the building. Tools used for internal communication during Emergency Operations include: Alerting App, Intercom, Phones, 2-way Radios.

Students
Students
Receive age-appropriate training on Emergency Response and are empowered to make decisions to protect themselves from threats, in and out of the school setting. Furthermore, students are educated on the importance of and process for reporting potential threats. Students are encouraged to refrain from using their cell phones for nonpriority calls/texts. Unnecessary phone use can potentially tie up valuable cell/wifi service and cause unnecessary physical traffic at the Emergency site.

Families
Families
Can be confident the FSD makes Emergency Preparedness a priority. The FSD provides a great deal of resources in terms of staff preparation, training, and equipment purchasing. The FSD works to prevent harm, identify potential harm and respond to the harm appropriately. Families will receive information pertaining to the emergency: including the response taken and steps for management as safety and time permits. It is not the FSD's intent to keep information from families, but it must be done in a safe manner that aids in safe and efficient response/management.
