The Franklin & Marshall women's basketball team (6-5, 1-5 CC) gets ready for three Centennial Conference (CC) games this week. F&M begins the week with a road game at Muhlenberg (8-4, 3-4 CC) on Tuesday at 11:00 a.m. The Diplomats then return to the Mayser Center to host McDaniel (9-2, 4-2 CC) on Thursday at 6:00 p.m. and Swarthmore (5-6, 3-3 CC) on Saturday at 1:00 p.m.
Last Week
The Diplomats began the new year with a 51-47 victory over Salisbury Saturday morning to extend their winning streak to three games. F&M jumped out to an early lead to take a 32-15 lead into halftime. Salisbury chipped away at the F&M lead to cut the deficit to as low as three points, but the hosts made key baskets down the stretch of the fourth quarter to hold on to win. Quinn Galligan posted a game-high 12 points with three steals and two assists. Ally Trebelev finished one rebound shy of a double-double with 10 points and nine boards. Franklin & Marshall fell, 56-47, on the Diplomats' 2023 Senior Day. The Diplomats made it a three-point game with 1:26 remaining in the contest. However, the Mules ended regulation on a 7-1 run to win. Jaclyn Feit tallied a double-double with 14 points and 10 rebounds. Galligan, Natalie Kolb '23, and Trebelev followed with 10 points each. Franklin & Marshall suffered a narrow defeat on the road at McDaniel, 47-46, back in December. Both teams traded the lead numorous times throughout the contest with the visitors holding a 39-33 advantage at the 5:52 mark of the fourth quarter for its largest lead of the game. However, the Green Terror began a 14-2 run to take 47-41 lead with 1:26 left in regulation. A pair of free throws from Galligan followed by a three-pointer from Lizzie Neville got the Diplomats within a point, but F&M couldn't sink the potential game-winning basket as time expired. The Mules enter Tuesday's meeting having won two of their last three games, with their most recent matchup being a 46-41 loss at Washington College. Ava Connolly leads Muhlenberg in points per game, averaging 12 per contest. Rachel Saxton follows, averaging 10 points per game.
