The Franklin & Marshall women's basketball team (2-0) looks to jump out to a 3-0 record for the first time since the 2012-13 season when it hosts Ursinus (3-0) Tuesday at 6:00 p.m. in the Diplomats' Centennial Conference (CC) opener inside the Mayser Center.
Last Week
F&M opened the new season with two wins at the Terry Greene Tip-Off Tournament. In the season opener, the Diplomats defeated Lancaster Bible, 55-42. Jaclyn Feit recorded a double-double with 17 points and 16 rebounds, while blocking five shots in the win. Lizzie Neville and Ally Trebelev also finished in double-digit scoring figures with 15 and 10 points, respectively. Neville also registered a game-leading five assists in the victory. The Diplomats followed up that performance by downing Penn State Harrisburg, 61-57, on Sunday. Quinn Galligan posted a game-high 19 points, while shooting 7-for-12 from the field. Last Time vs. Ursinus
In the 60-48 victory over Ursinus during the 2022-23 season, F&M shot 41.2 percent from the field to roll past the Bears. Feit led the Diplomats in scoring with 17 points, while also blocking four shots in the win. Natalie Kolb '23 racked up 15 points, shooting a perfect 8-for-8 at the charity stripe. Ursinus Team Preview
The Bears started the new season with wins over Immaculata, Penn State Brandywine, and Neumann to carry a 3-0 record into their meeting with Franklin & Marshall. Averaging 19.3 points per game and 10 rebounds per contest, Chinwe Irondi is a force in the paint. Irondi's great start to the 2023-24 campaign earned her CC Player of the Week in the opening week of the season. Kelly Grant (3.7) and Natalie Mehl (3.0) each average over three assists this season. Madison Smith currently ranks first in the CC in double-doubles with two in her three games played.
