The Digital Leap is a free, supportive, 12-week course designed specifically for adults who want to learn technology at their own pace. No prior computer experience is required! We start from the absolute beginning.
Weeks 1–3: Computer Basics: Mastering the mouse, keyboard, and organizing your files.
Weeks 4–6: Internet & Safety: Browsing the web securely and spotting online scams.
Weeks 7–8: Email Like a Pro: Setting up accounts, sending attachments, and blocking spam.
Weeks 9–11: Workplace Tools: Creating professional documents and basic budgeting spreadsheets.
Week 12: Online Job Search: Navigating job boards and uploading your resume.
Week 13: Capstone Project: Introduction to Slides, Job Search Presentations
Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to:
Navigate Computing Environments: Demonstrate proficiency in basic computer operations, file management, secure internet browsing, and cybersecurity best practices (Weeks 1–6).
Manage Digital Communication: Communicate effectively and professionally using email platforms, including managing attachments and organizing correspondence (Weeks 7–8).
Utilize Productivity Software: Create, edit, and format professional documents, budgeting spreadsheets, and presentations using Google Workspace (Weeks 9–13).
Execute Online Career Searches: Utilize digital job boards and networking platforms to conduct targeted job searches and submit online applications (Week 12).
