eligibility requirements for 17 year old hse student
To qualify for an age exception, a 17-year-old must:
have a government (national or foreign) issued photo ID (see below for ID requirements);
have proof of Texas residency (see above for residency requirements);
verify you are not currently enrolled in school (unless enrolled in an approved in-school High School Equivalency Program);
not have an accredited high school diploma; and
have parent or guardian permission.
In order to enroll into our HSE Prep (GED Prep), you must have the following forms at your initial advising appointment:
Parent or Guardian signature on the AEL Enrollment Form
Self-Attestation Form (if applicable)
TEA Parental or Guardian Consent Form of 17 year old Test-Taker
Your Candidate ID issued by the Test registration system (GEDTS or HiSET)
Withdrawal Forms from last school attended
