To qualify for an age exception, a 18-year-old must:

• • Acceptable IDs for Class - click here to view the TWC AEL-Approved Work Authorization and Identity Documentation.  Students must present the program with acceptable documents from these lists as evidence of identity and employment authorization to be eligible for services.

  • have proof of Texas residency (see above for residency requirements); 

  • verify you are not currently enrolled in school (unless enrolled in an approved in-school High School Equivalency Program) by providing a withdrawal form from the last high school enrolled

  • not have an accredited high school diploma; and 

  • have parent or guardian permission.

In order to enroll into our HSE Prep (GED Prep), you must have the following forms at your initial advising appointment:

    • Self-Attestation Form (if applicable)

    • TEA High School Non-Enrollment form (must be completed by HS)

    • Your Candidate ID issued by the test registration system

    • Withdrawal Forms from last school attended
