School Day

The school day starts at 9.00 am and ends at 3.00 pm however due to the number of pupils supported across the authority not all buses arrive at the start of the day.

Due to coronavirus restrictions we have split breaks and lunches for our 2020/21 session.

Lower school classes -

Morning break - 10.15 - 10.30 am

Lunch - 12 and 12.45pm

Upper school classes -

Morning break - 10.30 - 10.45am

Lunch - 12.45 and 1.30 pm.

Part-time Placement

Pupils supported on a part time placement will leave Carlibar at 11.45am and will be transported by a school bus to their mainstream school. Pupils who spend their afternoons at Carlibar will be collected by school transport and will arrive during lunchtime.

Lunches

Pupils P1-3 are entitled to a free school lunch. The menu is made available on East Renfrewshire Council website.

Lunch orders for pupils who leave Carlibar during period 4 are shared with the host school each morning.

Lunch orders for children arriving during lunch will be sent from their home school directly to Carlibar kitchen.

When we return in August pupils will eat in their classroom.

Playground

This session all children will utilise the CCS playground at play and lunch times, with upper and lower classes staggered.

This playground provides a smaller space for pupils where all children are encouraged to play and make use of the equipment. At all times they are supervised and supported by our PSA and CDO staff.

Some classes make use of the large grassy area beside the school during break times.

Playtimes are also an opportunity for children to have some quiet space alone with minimum interaction.

We are currently developing this space to also provide a engaging outdoor learning area.
