Virtual Meetings

Video Meeting Etiquette

During video meetings, it is very important for all students to be able to hear and participate in the meeting. Noises from your laptop microphone carries through to all participants, so be sure to consider the following:

Find a quiet place to attend the meeting (empty room) so that you have minimum disruptions.

Turn off your microphone when you are not talking/responding. Keep your camera on.

Stay focused on the teacher and the lesson.

Be on time. In fact, it’s recommended to log-in about 10 minutes early and then mute your microphone and camera until the meeting time.

Lack of internet data is NOT an excuse for not attending meetings. Epic provides you with ample data to complete your online lessons, applicable videos, and video meetings. If you are using your data for purposes other than school and this causes you to miss meetings, lessons, etc., your laptop can be locked down to Epic curriculum only.
