Letter Library

Letter Library

The letter library is a place where you can share your love for specific books. You can write in the margins about whatever you like. You can say anything from "this scene really made me happy," or, "I dislike this character so much," as long at it is school appropriate.

What You Can Do

  • Circle, Highlight, or Underline your favorite scenes, lines, or parts.

  • Sign the inside cover of your favorite books and see who else likes it.

  • Leave letters for others reading and maybe make a new friend.

  • Add one of your favorite books to the library.

Rules

  • Leave the books in the library, you may not check them out.

  • Do not write anything that will get you in trouble.

  • Do not damage the books. (e.x. ripping pages)

  • Be kind to everyone using it. Don't be the guy that gets everything taken away.

I made the Letter Library as a place where people who truly love books can come together and make something really unique. I got the idea from Cath Crowley's Words in Deep Blue. The concept is you can circle words or phrases on the pages of their favorite books. You can write notes in the margins or leave letters for people who’ve read the same books.

The thing about second hand books, or books with things written in them, is that they are full of mystery, and I love that. Sometimes, I'll find grocery lists or full conversations on scrap pieces of paper in books at Goodwill and for some reason, it makes me happy. Regardless, I hope you enjoy EPCHS's letter library.
