9/11 Memorial

On November 11, the 18th anniversary of 9/11,

Paul Peterson and The National Honors Society set up a remembrance event in honor of all the people who died on that fateful day. The night before the event Paul Peterson, Caleb Alt, Casey Spence, and Parker Spence setup 343 small flags in the shape of the 3 towers, in honor of every New York City Firefighter who sacrificed their lives in order to rescue those inside the buildings.

Paul decided to do this for his National Honor Society project, so his generation will better understand and not forget about defining moment in modern America history that happened before they were born. For the 9/11 event, over 50 students and more than 30 first responders came out to pay their respects to all who died that day. Paul Peterson and the assistant fire chief, Dan Decker, gave speeches about the events on that fateful day, and the important roles first responders had.

"It's important to remember the brothers and sisters who were lost that day" - Dan Decker
