The School’s tightly-knit community, which is at the very core of what makes the School unique, has also taught me to value friendship, kindness and commitment. Emanuel has instilled within me the integral values of integrity, diligence and friendship.

Erik is a hard-working and self-motivated student with a love of learning. He believes that the support his teachers have displayed has left an indelible impression on him and encouraged his “insatiable thirst for knowledge”. Erik has a strong academic record and has won numerous prizes during High School. He has been on the Principal’s List for Outstanding Academic Effort and/or Achievement 18 times since Year 7 and has been awarded Dux of the School in Years 8, 10 and 11 and Mensch of the Year in Year 9.

Erik particularly enjoyed starring in the High School musical productions of 'Fiddler on the Roof' and 'Back to the 80s'. He has been involved in debating throughout his time at Emanuel and was a representative in the Model United Nations Competition in 2014.

An Emanuel teacher commented: “His positive and warm nature, his love of learning and time management skills, coupled with his enthusiasm and humour, have enabled him to flourish in the school environment. Erik leaves us with the ability to make a considerable difference in his community and the wider world.”

His sage advice for younger High School students is: “Make your life spectacular”.

In 2018, Erik plans on working and then spending time with his grandparents in Israel.
