Charge each child an entry fee, and use the entry fee to cover camp costs. If this is the case, you must estimate the cost of the camp beforehand and divide this cost by the number of campers that you will accept/expect to attend. The figure you get is the minimum cost per camper. Our camp charges $30 for each of thirty campers, yielding a $900 budget. 100% of parents who responded to our 2017 post-camp survey said that the cost of our camp was either appropriate or a deal.
Get funding from your team or another outside source. This allows you to offer the camp to children for free, or for less cost than the traditional funding method. Contact potential sponsors or your team about funding. There may also be ways to get grants to support your camp. For example, our teammate Paige received a grant from school district meant for teachers or clubs with innovative ideas.
Making oil and water lava lamps is lots of fun! The more food coloring the better!
