After the camp is finished and all the camp materials are back where they belong, create a survey to send to campers and their parents. This will tell you how to improve the camp in following years, to ensure that it is a sustainable event.
Use your favorite survey method to send a post-camp survey. We suggest Google Forms. It is easy to use and easy to customize. Whatever method you use, here are some ideas for survey questions:
Questions for parents:
On a scale of 1 - 10, how satisfied are you with STEM Camp?
Please explain your above response.
Did the camp's hours work well for you? If not, why?
Did the camp's dates work well for you? If not, why?
Was the camp's cost appropriate, too much, or a deal?
What topics or activities do you wish we had covered that we did not cover?
Do you have any comments, suggestions, complaints, or concerns?
Questions for campers:
On a scale of 1 - 10, how much fun did you have at STEM Camp?
On a scale of 1 - 10, how much did you learn at camp?
On a scale of 1 - 10, how engaged were you at camp?
What was your favorite activity?
What did you like about it?
What was your least favorite activity?
What didn't you like about it?
Were there any topics or activities that you wish we had covered?
How can we improve STEM Camp?
On a scale of 1 - 10, how interested are you in joining a FIRST Robotics team when you reach high school?
On a scale of 1 - 10, how interested are you in working in a science, technology, engineering, or math related field when you grow up?
