Training Methods

Regular Training

Regular Training is one of the EGYM Classic training methods. It is characterized by constant resistance through the concentric and eccentric movements.

Negative Training

Negative Training is another EGYM Classic training method. With the eccentric enhanced Negative Training method, the EGYM system automatically adjusts the weight on both the concentric and eccentric movements. Its like having a virtual training partner adjust the weights for you.

Starting with a lower training weight on the concentric movement, the machine automatically increases the load by a certain percentage and elongates the eccentric phase to provide overload during the training session. Then the machine automatically lowers the resistance again to allow the user to pull the weight back through the concentric phase.

*Adaptive Training

Adaptive Training is the EGYM version of partner assisted training. The EGYM system will 'adapt' to the users fatigue which is evidenced by the inability of the user to maintain tracking of the ball within the curve. The weight will automatically reduce by x percent to allow the user to continue pushing through to the end of the set.

*Explonic Training

Explonic Training is the EGYM equivalent of plyometric training. Generally thought of as an Athlete only training method, the EGYM system has developed a safe way to train this high intensity method which can now be adapted to other demographics of users. Think elderly! Fast twitch muscle fiber is constantly in decline as one ages. The ability to catch ones self from a trip decreases, which results in a broken bone and hospital visit. How would you normally train an elderly person to retain fast twitch muscle? It used to be difficult, with EGYM now its easy!
