Over the course of Spring term we have been using the Lego WEDO kits to build Milo the space robot and programme him to perform various actions. We have written code to ask him to move, sense objects and collaborate with other robots to perform actions. It has been challenging at times but good fun!
This half term we have been looking at staying safe online lots in class. Today we looked at gaming and how we can stay safe and happy when playing games (particularly online games). Mr Harris led an assembly last week with some information and tips for coping with the emotions gaming can bring up. After some discussion we made posters that could be displayed in a classroom to help children cope. Here is a selection of the posters we made.
In grammar this week we are learning about how and when to use a colon. We made some human sentences to demonstrate when a colon can be used.
This morning we took a brisk walk up the high street to visit our local library. Here, we were able to learn about the facilities available for us to use in the library, browse and take out some books as well as taking part in some activities linked to the history and georgraphy of Rayleigh organised by the staff. It was a very interesting and informative visit and if they weren't already, the children will be regular library users from now on!
